  • Ravens' Ronald Darby: Gets chance in Baltimore

Darby signed a one-year contract with the Ravens worth up to $3.2 million on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. After being released by Denver in March due to a failed physical, Darby has been working out for teams since the start of training camp. He is returning from an ACL tear suffered in early October of last season and has apparently shown enough to prove his full bill of health. Baltimore will be the fifth home for the journeyman cornerback, as he has had previous stints with the Bills, Eagles, Commanders and Broncos. He is now expected to compete for a depth cornerback role with the Ravens.

  • Broncos' Ronald Darby: Full go in practice

Darby has been practicing without limitations, recording the first interception of training camp, George Stoia III of The Denver Gazette reports. Darby finished the 2021 campaign on IR after injuring his shoulder in Week 16. The veteran cornerback subsequently observed from the sidelines during OTAs this offseason. Darby has not recorded an interception since 2019 as a member of the Eagles' secondary. The 28-year-old could be busy this year if opposing quarterbacks shy away from throwing in the direction of second-year star Patrick Surtain. If this is the case, Darby will have the opportunity to get back on track this season for what should be a strong defensive unit.

The 26-year-old missed the final two games of 2019 with a hip strain, and his timetable to return remains unclear. New head coach Ron Rivera has long been a fan of Darby, so he likely will battle for the starting cornerback spot that was vacated when the team traded Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) to Seattle.

While an exact timetable for the starting cornerback's return remains undisclosed, it appears as though he's trending toward missing multiple games. • Eagles' Ronald Darby: Staying optimistic

Darby (knee) said he will participate in some capacity at training camp and is hoping to play Week 1 against Washington, Jimmy Kempski of The Philly Voice reports. While keeping Week 1 in the timetable for Darby's return is certainly optimistic, there may be reason to believe he'll need more time. The 24-year-old tore his ACL on November 11, and if he takes the average amount of time to rehab -- roughly 10 months -- he would return sometime in mid-to-late September or early October, barring any setbacks. When healthy, Darby is certainly capable of managing a starting role, as proven by the 38 tackles (36 solo), 12 pass breakups and one interception through the first eight games of last season. Of course, caution should be exercised with respect to determining Darby's fantasy value until he can confirm a clean bill of health.
