The 49ers DST was the worst Fantasy unit in 2015, and we're not optimistic for a dramatic turnaround this year. Last year, the 49ers had nine interceptions, 28 sacks, three fumble recoveries, one DST touchdown and allowed 387 points. Only the Cowboys (11) had fewer turnovers, and San Francisco was one of just six teams with one DST touchdown or less. It's hard to overcome losing players like Patrick Willis and Chris Borland in the same offseason, but this defense needs a lot of help, even with the addition of rookie defensive end DeForset Buckner in the first round of the NFL Draft. We don't recommend drafting the 49ers DST in the majority of leagues, and it would be surprise if they became a waiver wire option as well. San Francisco remains in rebuilding mode in 2016.
