Suggs said after Monday's 96-86 loss to the Cavaliers that he doesn't think his sprained left knee injury will keep him from playing Thursday in Game 3 of the series, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. Suggs suffered the injury in the first quarter Monday, when he collapsed to the floor after making contact with Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell. Suggs grabbed his leg in visible pain after the play and didn't put any weight on his leg as he was assisted to the locker room, but he was able to return to the contest after halftime while sporting a compression sleeve on his leg. He ended up playing well down the stretch, finishing with nine points (2-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 29 minutes. Adrenaline might have played a part in Suggs feeling well enough to return, so the Magic will wait and see how his knee responds over the next two days before deciding whether he's fit to play in Game 3 with the Magic facing a 2-0 series deficit.... Magic's Jalen Suggs: Starts second half
Suggs (knee) started the second half of Monday's Game 2 against the Cavaliers, Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Suggs was spotted warming up on the court ahead of the second half, and he feels healthy enough to give it a go. He'll look to provide his team with a spark as the Magic face a 14-point deficit to begin the third quarter.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Questionable to return
Suggs has been diagnosed with a left knee strain and is questionable to return to Monday's Game 2 against Cleveland. The fact that Suggs hasn't been immediately ruled out after suffering what appeared to be a serious injury is great news for the Magic. The team will likely continue to monitor its starting point guard as the game wears on to determine whether he can check back in.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Helped off court
Suggs needed assistance to get off the court during Monday's Game 2 against the Cavaliers after appearing to suffer a left leg injury, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. Suggs suffered the injury in the first quarter after making contact with Donovan Mitchell, and he stayed down after the play. If Suggs is unable to return, look for Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony to shoulder the load at point guard.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Strong two-way effort in loss
Suggs ended with 21 points (7-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, four assists, two blocks and two steals across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 118-106 loss to the Rockets. Suggs was fantastic on both ends of the floor despite the loss, leading the Magic with 21 points with four combined steals and blocks. Suggs has been somewhat of a revelation this season, finally realizing some of the potential that has until now been missing. He has been a top 100 player in 72 games, averaging 12.5 points, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.1 three-pointers.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Bounces back in win Sunday
Suggs closed with 19 points (7-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists, one block and two steals across 29 minutes during Sunday's 113-98 victory over the Bulls. Suggs was coming off seven straight outings in which he couldn't clear the 15-point mark, including back-to-back single-digit scoring efforts, but he bounced back in a big way here and played a prominent role on offense Sunday. However, the uptick in touches was also due to Franz Wagner leaving the game with an ankle sprain in the third quarter.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Struggles in loss Friday
Suggs logged eight points (4-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one steal across 22 minutes during Friday's 124-115 loss to Charlotte. Suggs was a non-factor in the loss, and he was outplayed by Markelle Fultz on both ends of the floor. Despite being a must-roster player for the majority of the season, Suggs' fantasy ceiling remains limited. With very little room to move in terms of upside, he is not someone who needs to be prioritized down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Efficient in win Monday
Suggs chipped in 15 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, seven assists and two blocks over 33 minutes during Monday's 104-103 win over Portland. Suggs missed only three attempts from beyond the arc in what turned out to be a strong display on offense, and the Magic needed every point they could get since they defeated a struggling Blazers team by just one point. Suggs has scored exactly 15 points in three consecutive games, and even though the Orlando offense typically runs through Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, Suggs can be a dependable scorer when called upon.... Magic's Jalen Suggs: Struggles with shot Wednesday
Suggs produced four points (1-7 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 101-93 loss to Golden State. Wednesday's game was the second contest in a row during which Suggs went 1-for-5 from deep. He's shooting a career-high 39.5 percent from beyond the arc this season, but that has dropped to 27.8 percent over his last three games. Suggs will look to get his stroke back Friday against the Clippers.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Leading scorer vs. New Orleans
Suggs finished Thursday's 121-106 victory over the Pelicans with 22 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), one rebound, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes. Suggs has scored in double digits in each of his last six games while shooting 48.7 percent from three on 6.5 attempts per game. Thursday's performance marked the first time since Jan. 9 against the Timberwolves that he's scored 20 points. Suggs is registering career-high marks this season in points per game (12.5), field-goal efficiency (46.7 percent) and three-point efficiency (40.1 percent).... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Nabs three steals vs. Raptors
Suggs finished with 16 points (6-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, three assists and three steals across 30 minutes during Friday's 113-103 victory over the Raptors. After missing two games due to a bruised right thigh, Suggs has put up decent numbers in his last two games. His three-point shooting has been particularly good as he's gone 7-for-14 over that span. Suggs is shooting a career-high 39.7 percent from three this season, up nearly seven percentage points from 2022-23.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Good to go Wednesday
Suggs (thigh) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report ahead of Wednesday's game versus the Nets. Suggs returned to practice Tuesday after missing back-to-back games and will be good to go Wednesday. Markelle Fultz (knee) is also slated to return versus Brooklyn, so Orlando's backcourt should be at full strength. Since the All-Star break (eight games), Suggs has averaged 11.6 points, 3.5 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 24.9 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Practices Tuesday
Suggs (thigh) was active for practice Tuesday in advance of Wednesday's game against Brooklyn, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. Suggs' status will be determined by how his body responds to his practice workload Tuesday. He was joined in practice participation by Markelle Fultz (knee), with both players being questionable for Wednesday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Strokes five threes Wednesday
Suggs registered 19 points (6-12 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, four assists and one steal in 32 minutes during Wednesday's 119-109 victory over Washington. It was the first time since early January that Suggs connected on five or more threes in a game. He provided a solid third option for the Magic on Wednesday alongside All-Star Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. Suggs has upped his shooting efficiency from the field and from three-point range this season, though he won't see as many opportunities to score when sharing the floor with Banchero and Wagner.... Magic's Jalen Suggs: Leads from deep to boost offense
Suggs finished with 15 points (5-8 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 29 minutes in Thursday's 115-107 win over Utah. Suggs connected on a team-high mark from three while ending as one of two Magic players with 15 or more points despite fouling out and dealing with foul trouble throughout Thursday's contest. Suggs has connected on four or more threes in nine games, and he has tallied at least 15 points on 20 occasions.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Not listed on injury report
Suggs (head) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report ahead of Saturday's game against the Pistons. Suggs left Thursday's win over the Cavaliers in the third quarter with a head injury after colliding with teammate Wendell Carter, but the former looks to have avoided a concussion. With Markelle Fultz (injury maintenance) still out, Suggs should handle point guard duties versus Detroit, while Gary Harris starts at shooting guard again.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Leaves early with head injury
Suggs exited in the third quarter of Thursday's 116-109 win over the Cavaliers with a head injury and didn't return, Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel reports. He finished with seven points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt), three assists, one rebound and one steal in 18 minutes. Suggs left the game with 7:31 remaining in the third quarter after taking an inadvertent elbow to the head from teammate Wendell Carter. After a brief trip to the locker room, Suggs was back on the bench for the fourth quarter, but he never re-entered the game. Head coach Jamahl Mosley said after the game that Suggs was feeling "OK," but the young guard could still require further concussion testing before his status for Saturday's game in Detroit is determined.... Magic's Jalen Suggs: Good to go Thursday
Suggs (groin) isn't listed on Orlando's injury report for Thursday's game against the Cavaliers. Suggs was a late scratch for Orlando's final game before the All-Star break, but he'll return to action Thursday. Over his last 14 appearances, Suggs has averaged 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals in 27.3 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Ruled out for Wednesday
Suggs has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Knicks due to right groin soreness. Suggs wasn't on Orlando's initial injury report for Wednesday's matchup, but he'll be unable to suit up during the team's final game before the All-Star break. Gary Harris (calf) has also been ruled out, so Cole Anthony and Joe Ingles are candidates to see plenty of run Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Magic's Jalen Suggs: Pops for 17 in Tuesday's loss
Suggs supplied 17 points (5-13 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 3-4 FT), seven rebounds, four assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 127-113 loss to the Thunder. The third-year guard is still struggling to provide consistent offense, but his defensive skills are coming to the fore. Suggs has scored in double digits in only six of the last nine games while shooting 40.9 percent from the floor, but he's averaged 11.3 points, 3.6 boards, 2.9 assists, 2.4 threes and 1.9 steals over that stretch....
