Reid isn't starting Friday's game against the Hawks. Reid will retreat to a bench role due to the return of Karl-Anthony Towns to the starting lineup. Reid should continue to play a key role within the Minnesota rotation, especially while Towns gets back into game shape.... See More ... See Less

Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Ejected against Washington
Reid was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Wizards with 3:36 remaining in the first quarter. He finished with three points, two rebounds, one steal and one block in eight minutes. The officials determined that Reid made "unnecessary and excessive" contact to the head of Johnny Davis. With Reid hitting the locker room early, Kyle Anderson is likely to pick up a lot of minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Posts massive 31/11 double-double
Reid chipped in 31 points (12-16 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 1-3 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 127-117 victory over the Lakers. Reid has effectively softened the blow of Karl-Anthony Towns' (knee) extended absence. If Towns rejoins the team for the playoffs as expected, it will be interesting to see if coach Chris Finch goes with a trio of Towns, Reid and Rudy Gobert alongside Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards. Reid has certainly displayed his ability to stretch the floor, averaging 5.1 three-point attempts per game with a conversion rate of 41.8 percent.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Pops for 23 points in blowout
Reid finished Wednesday's 133-85 victory over the Raptors with 23 points (8-15 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal in 26 minutes. Reid's contributions have been significant for the Timberwolves amid Karl-Anthony Towns' (knee) absence. Although the team should have Towns back for the playoffs, Reid's interior presence will be crucial as they attempt to keep ahead of Denver and Oklahoma City for the top seed in the West. The LSU product has averaged 18.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocked shots over nine consecutive starts.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Leads Minnesota in scoring
Reid supplied 21 points (9-18 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists across 31 minutes during Wednesday's 106-91 victory over the Pistons. Reid was uncharacteristically poor from three-point range, as he failed to make multiple threes for the first time since March 12. However, he still played a prominent role on offense and led Minnesota in scoring, perhaps embracing the more significant role due to Anthony Edwards' subpar outing. Reid has scored over 15 points in five games in a row and in seven of his last eight contests, averaging 20.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 44.4 percent from deep during that eight-game stretch.... Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Double-double against Golden State
Reid had 20 points (7-11 FG, 6-8 3Pt), 12 rebounds, two blocks and one steal over 29 minutes during Sunday's 114-110 victory over the Warriors. The 12 boards tied his season high as Reid recorded his fourth double-double of the campaign. With Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) sidelined, Reid has started five of his last six games and averaged 18.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.3 threes, 2.3 assists, 1.7 blocks and 0.8 steals over that stretch while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 45.5 percent (20-for-44) from beyond the arc.... Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Available against Cavaliers
Reid (head) is available and starting against the Cavaliers on Friday, Serena Winters of Bally Sports Cleveland reports. The presence of Reid gives Minnesota some sort of stability in the frontcourt, as Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) is out and Rudy Gobert (ribs) will be a game-time decision. Reid is averaging 16.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game since the beginning of March.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Iffy for Friday
Reid (head) is questionable for Friday's game against Cleveland. Reid missed Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to a head injury, and it's unclear whether he'll be able to suit up Friday. If he remains out, Luka Garza could see an increase in playing time once again.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Unavailable Tuesday
Reid (head) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against Denver, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. Reid will join Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) on the sideline while Rudy Gobert (ribs) remains questionable, leaving Minnesota compromised in the frontcourt. Luka Garza will likely remain in a fringe rotation role regardless of Gobert's status, while Kyle Anderson appears locked into a 30-plus minute workload and could see some run as a small-ball center if Gobert can't go.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Questionable for Tuesday
Reid (head injury) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets. Reid left Monday's game against the Jazz early, but the questionable tag suggests he's dealing with a day-to-day injury. In addition to Reid, Rudy Gobert (ribs) is also questionable. If the Timberwolves are shorthanded, they could turn to Jaden McDaniels, Kyle Anderson and Luka Garza.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Won't return Monday
Reid has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game against the Jazz due to a head injury, Dane Moore of 'The Dane Moore NBA Podcast' reports. He recorded 17 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds and one block in 17 minutes prior to his departure. The Timberwolves are already without Rudy Gobert (rib) on Monday and Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) is likely done for the regular season, so Reid's early exit leaves Minnesota without its top three big men. Head coach Chris Finch could be forced to rely on more small-ball lineups for the rest of the night or lean more heavily on two-way player Luka Garza at center.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Starting against Utah
Reid is in the starting lineup to face the Jazz on Saturday. Reid will step into a starting role with Rudy Gobert (ribs) out. Reid has been sensational of late, averaging 15.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.4 blocks per game since the beginning of March.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Briefly exits Tuesday
Reid left Tuesday's game versus the Clippers with 5:16 remaining in the first quarter after rolling his right ankle but returned with 3:55 remaining in the same period, Jack Borman of Locked on Sports Minnesota reports. Despite having an injury scare, Reid ultimately missed less than two minutes of action Tuesday. The 24-year-old big man is seemingly available to play out the rest of the game.... See More ... Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Coming off bench
Reid will come off the bench against the Clippers on Tuesday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. Rudy Gobert (hamstring) is back in the lineup for Minnesota, so this is an expected move. Reid stepped up in a big way during Sunday's loss to the Lakers, finishing with 25 points (9-17 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-3 FT), five rebounds, three assists and four blocks across 42 minutes. While he'll operate off the bench, Reid should still play increased minutes as long as Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) remains sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Career night off bench
Reid notched 34 points (10-18 FG, 7-11 3Pt, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 32 minutes off the bench during Friday's 113-104 overtime loss to Cleveland. The 34 points were a career high for Reid, while the seven made three-pointers tied the personal best he set in Dallas on Dec. 14. The fifth-year center has scored in double digits in 12 of the last 15 games as the anchor of the Timberwolves' second unit, averaging 13.7 points, 5.9 boards, 1.9 threes, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocks in 25.7 minutes a contest.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Leads bench in scoring Thursday
Reid recorded 13 points (6-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 26 minutes during Thursday's 113-111 win over the Pacers. With Karl-Anthony Towns out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee, Reid will see more opportunities on the offensive side of the floor. His 13 points Thursday was third on the team behind Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert. Although Kyle Anderson got the start for Towns, Reid could work his way into the starting five if he shows out over the next few games.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Impresses off bench in win
Reid finished Wednesday's 110-101 win over the Grizzlies with 19 points (6-11 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two blocks over 25 minutes. Reid has been one of the best bench performers this season, and although that role limits his upside a bit, he continues to find ways to make an impact on offense as the primary backup of both Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns. Reid has scored in double digits in eight of his last 10 appearances, averaging 12.6 points and shooting 37.5 percent from three-point range in that span.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Boosts team off bench in victory
Reid posted 22 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals over 33 minutes during Tuesday's 114-105 victory over the Spurs. With Karl-Anthony Towns (personal reasons) inactive, Reid saw extended time off the bench, leading all reserves in scoring and rebounds while ending as one of two Timberwolves players with 20 or more points in a winning effort. Reid has surpassed the 20-point mark in six games this season, adding five or more boards in five of those contests. All of those performances were off the bench for Reid, who has been one of the top producers on the second unit for Minnesota this year.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Returns to game
Reid (ankle) returned to Saturday's game against the Nets with 6:18 to play in the third quarter. Reid left the game in the second quarter and walked to the locker room under his own power after appearing to tweak his ankle on an awkward fall. Minnesota never issued an update, so that's a good sign that the issue isn't serious.... See More ... See Less -
Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Goes to locker room
Reid left Saturday's game versus the Nets with an apparent ankle injury with 6:56 left to play in the second quarter and went back to the locker room, Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Reid tried to recover on a defensive play and landed awkwardly on both ankles. He stayed down on the court for a minute before walking gingerly to the locker room under his own power. If he's unable to return, Minnesota will need to rely on Kyle Anderson even more with Rudy Gobert (ankle) sitting out.... See More ... See Less
