  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Out for rest of season

The Bulls announced Friday that Williams will undergo surgery to address bone edema in his left foot and will be out for the remainder of 2023-24. Williams hasn't played since Jan. 25 due to his left foot injury and will now be shut down for the remainder of the season. Ayo Dosunmu, Julian Phillips and Alex Caruso should continue to receive increased playing time in his absence. Williams will end the 2023-24 campaign averaging 10.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 27.3 minutes across 43 appearances.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Still without clear target date

Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said Williams (foot) has begun light ramp-up activities but hasn't resumed running and remains without a clear timeline for returning to game action, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports. Williams hasn't played since Jan. 25 due to a bone edema in his left foot. Though Williams seems to be in a better spot on the health front nearly a month after suffering the injury, he still appears to be at least a week or more away from being ready to play in games. Williams can safely be ruled out for Thursday's game against the Celtics, and likely a few more contests to follow.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Out at least two weeks

The Bulls announced Tuesday that Williams has been diagnosed with acute bone edema in his left foot and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Given that Williams will merely be re-evaluated in two weeks, he's unlikely to be cleared for game action until after the All-Star break. Ayo Dosunmu moved into the starting five and played 33 minutes in Sunday's win over Portland while Williams was sidelined, though that spot on the top unit will eventually be returned to Zach LaVine (ankle), assuming LaVine isn't traded before the Feb. 8 deadline. Along with Dosunmu, rookie Julian Phillips was one of the beneficiaries of Williams' absence -- he played 23 minutes Monday and recorded 11 points, two rebounds, one assist and one block.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Won't play Tuesday

Williams (foot) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Raptors. Williams missed back-to-back games in mid-January due to an ankle injury but returned Jan. 18 and played in four straight games (three starts) before being sidelined Saturday due to a foot injury. It's unclear if the two issues are related, but the fourth-year wing will miss his fifth game of January on Tuesday. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday in Charlotte, while Julian Phillips, Dalen Terry and Alex Caruso are candidates for increased roles versus Toronto.

Williams (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday's game versus the Lakers. Williams will likely continue to play through a right ankle sprain Thursday. The 22-year-old forward has started in each of Chicago's last two contests and logged 27 and 32 minutes, respectively.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Cleared for action

Williams (ankle) will play Monday versus Phoenix. Williams will suit up for his third straight game despite dealing with a right ankle strain. • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Considered probable for Monday

Williams is listed as probable for Monday's game against Phoenix due to a right ankle strain. Williams has dealt with nagging ankle issues throughout January, missing three of Chicago's past eight contests. However, the 22-year-old started in his normal workload Saturday and has suited up for two consecutive games, putting him on track to play Monday.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Scores 15 points in start

Williams totaled 15 points (4-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, one block and two steals across 27 minutes during Saturday's 125-96 victory over Memphis. Williams moved into the starting lineup, replacing Zach LaVine, who was out due to an ankle injury. Despite battling an injury of his own, Williams turned in a strong performance against a subpar opposition. Not unlike his career, Williams' production has been inconsistent this season. He is outside the top 150 in standard formats, averaging 10.0 points per game to go with 3.8 rebounds, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.8 combined steals and blocks. However, until LaVine returns to the lineup, Williams is someone worth grabbing.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Questionable against Toronto

Williams (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game versus the Raptors. Williams has been downgraded from questionable to out due to right ankle soreness in each of Chicago's last two contests. The 22-year-old's absence from practice Wednesday is a bad sign of his availability against the Raptors.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Unable to practice

Williams (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Williams has missed the past two games for Chicago, and his absence from practice Wednesday implies that he's likely questionable, at best, for Thursday's game against the Raptors. If Williams is unable to play, Alex Caruso and Ayo Dosunmu (shoulder) could see some extra run, and the Bulls could also make more use of the two-center lineup of Nikola Vucevic and Andre Drummond, as they did in Monday's loss to the Cavaliers.

Williams (ankle) is questionable for Monday's game against the Cavaliers. Williams has missed two of the past five games due to an ankle issue. His last absence came during the second half of a back-to-back set, but the team may opt to be cautious to get him back on track. Over his last three appearances, Williams has averaged just 7.3 points on 40.0 percent shooting.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Ruled out against Spurs

Williams (ankle/heel) will not play in Saturday's game against the Spurs, K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago reports. Williams was previously carrying a questionable tag. However, he's now dealing with heel pain in addition to his right ankle soreness, so the Bulls will hold him out. Williams' next chance to play will be Monday against the Cavaliers. Ayo Dosunmu is likely to see a bump in playing time with this news.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Questionable to play Saturday

Williams is questionable to face the Spurs on Saturday due to a right ankle sprain. Williams is a late addition to the injury report after he racked up nine points, seven assists, three rebounds and a steal off the bench in Friday's loss to the Warriors. Even if he's available, Williams is not expected to play a prominent fantasy role following his move to the second unit.
