Goodwin registered 23 points (7-23 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 17 rebounds, three assists and four steals over 37 minutes during Friday's 123-120 loss to the Lakers. Goodwin blew past his previous career best with 19 rebounds the last time he suited up Tuesday's versus San Antonio, and he nearly matched that mark Friday against the Lakers. He's notched double-digit rebounds in five of his past seven games, providing surprising production on the boards given his role as a 6-foot-3 point guard. In addition, Goodwin's 23 points Friday were a career high, and he's certainly making a case to be a big part of the Grizzlies' rotation next year after working on a two-way contract during the latter portion of the current campaign.... Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Starting Friday
Goodwin is starting Friday's game against the Lakers, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports. Goodwin was held out of Wednesday's clash against the Cavs to ensure he stayed below his limit of active games as a two-way player, but he'll be back in action Friday evening. He should see plenty of chances considering the Grizzlies have 13 players listed as out on the injury report.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Double-doubles in win
Goodwin finished with 13 points (6-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 111-101 win over the Bucks. Goodwin has scored in double digits in two of his last three appearances, and he seems to have carved a role off the bench on a depleted Memphis team that doesn't have much to play for in the final 10 days of the regular season. He could be a streaming option in deep formats, but other than that, his bench role doesn't provide a lot of upside.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Scores 16 points Saturday
Goodwin notched 16 points (6-15 FG, 4-6 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals across 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday's 118-88 loss to the Magic. Goodwin came off the bench and played a key role for a Memphis team in the blowout loss, finishing as the team leader in both points and rebounds. The 25-year-old guard hadn't appeared in either of Memphis' last two contests, as he has a limited number of games in which he can be active for the rest of the season since he's on a two-way contract. Despite his strong showing Saturday, Goodwin could nonetheless find himself back on the inactive list for Monday's game in Detroit, making him tough to rely upon as a streaming option on days when his availability hasn't been confirmed.... Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Starting vs. Spurs
Goodwin is starting at point guard Friday night against San Antonio. Goodwin is set to see his first action since March 13 after being listed as inactive for his team's last three contests. He'll draw the start at point guard after Desmond Bane (back) was officially ruled out. Goodwin is averaging 7.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks in his last six appearances as a starter.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Flirts with triple-double in win
Goodwin provided eight points (3-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 32 minutes during Tuesday's 109-97 victory over Washington. Goodwin served up a nice multi-category performance Tuesday, rewarding anyone who picked him up off waivers. While he has been relatively consistent, his presence on the court is uncertain, given he is only eligible to play a handful of games down the stretch. He is worth considering if and when he plays but as we have seen over the past two weeks, the Grizzlies are not afraid to rule him out at the last second.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Available for Tuesday
Goodwin (Achilles) is available for Tuesday's game against the Wizards and will start. Goodwin will shed his questionable tag, and there's no word of any restrictions. Considering how many injured players are on Memphis' roster, Goodwin should see significant minutes if he's feeling up to it.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Questionable for Tuesday
Goodwin (Achilles) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Wizards. Goodwin was listed as doubtful ahead of Sunday's loss to the Thunder before being downgraded to out, so he's made at least some progress since then. However, if he remains out, DeJon Jarreau would be a candidate for increased playing time again.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Out Sunday
Goodwin (Achilles) has officially been ruled out for Sunday's matchup in Oklahoma City, Jeff Garcia of KENS 5 San Antonio reports. No surprise here, as Goodwin was officially deemed doubtful for the contest. In his absence, the recently signed DeJon Jarreau, will be the lone backup for Luke Kennard at point guard. Goodwin's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday versus the Wizards.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Starting Friday
Goodwin is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Hawks. Goodwin has been inactive for the past two games for Memphis as the team looks to save his two-way player's active games played, but he's likely going to see heavy minutes Friday with both Luke Kennard (knee) and GG Jackson (knee) sidelined.... Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Not listed on injury report
Goodwin is not listed on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup with the 76ers. Goodwin should be active after sitting out Monday's game, so he could be viewed as a potential streaming option in deep leagues for those seeking some dimes and defensive stats.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Strong defensive effort Friday
Goodwin closed Friday's 122-92 loss to the Trail Blazers with 10 points (4-13 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, four blocks and two steals across 34 minutes. The Grizzlies' mess of a depth chart continues to be a source of frustration for fantasy players, but Goodwin at least is showing that he can be a reliable defensive contributor. The 25-year-old guard has started three of the last five games, sitting out the other two as Memphis keeps an eye on his game count, and during those contests, he's averaged 8.7 points, 6.0 boards, 4.3 assists, 2.0 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 threes.... Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Making another start
Goodwin wll start at point guard in Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves. The Grizzlies upgraded Goodwin from a 10-day deal and made him a two-way player over the weekend, but he ended up being inactive for Monday's loss to the Nets while Memphis looked to preserve his active games count. Now that he's been confirmed as a starter for Wednesday's contest, Goodwin could make for an attractive steaming option. In his lone other start with Memphis on Feb. 15 versus the Bucks, Goodwin tallied 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals in 29 minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Inks two-way deal
Goodwin agreed to a two-way contract with the Grizzlies on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Goodwin's 10-day deal with the Grizzlies was set to expire in the coming days, but Memphis will give him some longer-term security on the roster by bringing him aboard as one of its three two-way players. He'll take the two-way spot that belonged to fellow point guard Jacob Gilyard, who was waived Saturday in a corresponding move. Goodwin was out of the rotation for Friday's 101-95 loss to the Clippers, but he'll likely compete with Derrick Rose, Luke Kennard and John Konchar for minutes at point guard over the next few weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Held out of rotation Friday
Goodwin (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Friday's 101-95 loss to the Clippers. Despite starting in the Grizzlies' final game before the All-Star break in a Feb. 15 win over the Bucks and averaging 10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 three-pointers in 26.5 minutes in first two games with Memphis after signing a 10-day deal, Goodwin surprisingly found himself outside of the rotation Friday. The return of Derrick Rose (ankle) from a one-game absence played a part in Goodwin's exclusion from the rotation, though head coach Taylor Jenkins also made a lineup change featuring Luke Kennard as the team's de facto starting point guard. Jenkins' frequent rotation changes as well as Goodwin's status as a player on a 10-day deal will make the 25-year-old's minutes and production difficult to trust on a game-by-game basis, even while Memphis remains without multiple key players due to injury.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jordan Goodwin: Coming off bench
Goodwin will come off the bench for Friday's game against the Clippers, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. The Grizzlies are a little healthier coming out of the All-Star break, so Goodwin figures to see some minutes with the second unit. He had a solid showing in his last outing against the Bucks on Feb. 15, scoring 11 points with seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and one three-pointer.... See More ... See Less -
Jordan Goodwin: Waived by Brooklyn
The Nets requested waivers on Goodwin on Friday, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports. Goodwin was traded from the Suns to the Nets ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, but he'll be let go by Brooklyn a day later. The 25-year-old guard has an interesting fantasy profile, but he seems unlikely to find a sizable role elsewhere to close out the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Jordan Goodwin: Probable for Sunday
Goodwin is probable for Sunday's game against the Pacers with a right ankle sprain. Goodwin's expected availability isn't likely to impact the rotation much, as he's averaging 4.2 minutes across five January appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Jordan Goodwin: Logs four minutes Friday
Goodwin accumulated two points (1-2 FG), one rebound and one assist in four minutes during Friday's 123-109 victory over the Pelicans. Goodwin played four minutes in garbage time, his first action in more than a week. With the Suns now sporting a relatively healthy lineup, Goodwin has struggled to crack the rotation on a nightly basis.... See More ... See Less -
Suns' Jordan Goodwin: Sees 20 minutes in loss
Goodwin totaled eight points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and six assists over 20 minutes during Friday's 114-106 loss to the Kings. The Suns were missing Kevin Durant (ankle) and Grayson Allen (groin) Friday, and their status for Tuesday's game against the Warriors is in the air. Goodwin's production has been all over the place this season, but he stepped up for the second unit Friday and may be asked to do the same if the Suns are shorthanded against Golden State....
