Collins (back) is out for Sunday's game against the Warriors. Collins won't be available for the final game of the regular season, which makes sense since the Jazz don't have anything to play for Sunday. The veteran forward enjoyed a solid campaign in a starting role in 2023-24, averaging 15.1 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 28.0 minutes per game across 68 appearances (66 starts).... Jazz's John Collins: Remains out Friday
Collins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Clippers, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Collins hasn't played since dropping a 30-point, 11-rebound double-double against the Rockets on March 29. He has only one more chance to suit up this season -- Sunday versus Golden State.... Jazz's John Collins: Won't play Thursday
Collins (back) won't suit up for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Collins will miss his sixth straight game Thursday due to back spasms, and the Jazz haven't offered much of an indication that he'll be available for the team's final two games of the campaign. With Walker Kessler (nose) also sidelined Thursday, Omer Yurtseven should continue to operate as Utah's starting center.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Unavailable Tuesday
Collins (back) will not play Tuesday versus Denver, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports. Collins is joined by Walker Kessler (nose) and Lauri Markkanen (shoulder) as the cast of multi-game absences in Utah's frontcourt. Omer Yurtseven will likely continue operating in the starting lineup, while Darius Bazley has logged 30-plus minutes in back-to-back contests.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Ruled out for Sunday
Collins (back) is out for Sunday's game against the Warriors, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Collins is set to miss a fourth consecutive game due to back spasms, meaning the Jazz will remain depleted in the frontcourt since Walker Kessler (nose) is out as well. Omer Yurtseven is likely to draw a second straight start and take on most of the minutes at center.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Won't play Friday
Collins (back) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Clippers, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Friday will mark Collins' third straight game on the sideline due to back spasms. With Walker Kessler (nose) set to join Collins on the inactive list, Omer Yurtseven and Micah Potter could be headed for heavy minutes at center.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Remains out vs. Cavs
Collins (back) won't play Tuesday against Cleveland, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Collins will miss his second straight contest while dealing with back spasms. Walker Kessler and Taylor Hendricks should continue to see more opportunities in Collins' absence.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Won't play Sunday
Collins (back) is inactive for Sunday's game against Sacramento. Collins will be sidelined by back spasms after starting Utah's previous four contests. His next opportunity to take the court comes Tuesday versus Cleveland. Walker Kessler is averaging 8.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in five contests without Collins this season, while Taylor Hendricks should retain a hefty rotation role amid a stretch of averaging 30.4 minutes across his last five games.... Jazz's John Collins: Questionable to face Sacramento
Collins is questionable to face the Kings on Sunday due to back spasms, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Collins is coming off his best performance of the season after putting up 30 points in Friday's loss to the Rockets, but considering Utah doesn't have anything to play for in the final two weeks of the season, the Jazz could be cautious with the veteran power forward. If he can't go Sunday, then Walker Kessler could be in line to enter the starting lineup.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Scores season-high 30 points
Collins closed with 30 points (10-14 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 11 rebounds, two blocks and one steal across 30 minutes during Friday's 101-100 loss to the Rockets. Collins delivered his best scoring output of the campaign, and he's ending the season on a strong note, posting 20 or more points in three of his last four appearances. The veteran big man is averaging 19.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in March and has established himself as a reliable scoring option for the Jazz. He shares the scoring duties with the likes of Collin Sexton and Lauri Markkanen (shoulder).... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Scores 25 points vs. Houston
Collins chipped in 25 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 9-10 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal over 20 minutes during Saturday's 147-119 loss to Houston. Collins missed just two shots from the field and was a dependable asset for the Jazz on both ends of the court, but his contributions were not enough to lift Utah to victory in a game where the Jazz looked overmatched defensively. Collins has done a good job for Utah in terms of fantasy contributions, providing steady numbers as a scorer and rebounder who also shoots the ball efficiently. Over his last 10 games, Collins has averaged 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while making 58.4 percent of his attempts from the field.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Good to go Saturday
Collins (face) will play in Saturday's game in Houston, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Collins was originally considered questionable due to facial bruising, but he is feeling good enough to give it a go. Barring any setbacks, look for him to take on his usual workload at center.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Iffy for Saturday
Collins (face) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Rockets. Collins suffered a facial contusion after getting posterized by the Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards on Monday but played Wednesday, posting 16 points and six rebounds in 23 minutes. However, he took the second night of Utah's back-to-back set off Thursday in Dallas and is now in danger of missing a second consecutive game. If that's the case, Omer Yurtseven (ankle) and Micah Potter could stay in the rotation for another game.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Ruled out against Dallas
Collins (face) won't play in Thursday's game versus the Mavericks. Collins has been ruled out for the second leg of Utah's back-to-back Thursday due to a facial contusion. Walker Kessler will likely receive increased playing time in his absence. Collins' next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Houston.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Cleared to play Wednesday
Collins (face/head) will play Wednesday against the Thunder. Collins suffered a head contusion after getting posterized by the Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards on Monday but cleared concussion protocols and logged a limited practice Tuesday. It's unclear if Collins will be under any restrictions Wednesday, but Utah will need plenty of minutes out of him, given Lauri Markkanen's (quad/rest) absence.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Questionable with facial contusion
Collins (face/head) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Collins was a limited participant at Tuesday's practice, so he appears to be dealing with a relatively minor contusion. Lauri Markkanen (quad/rest) will be absent from Utah's frontcourt Wednesday, so Collins' potential absence would be especially detrimental for the Jazz.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Avoids concussion
Collins avoided a concussion but was forced out of Monday's game against the Timberwolves with a head contusion, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. He finished the contest with 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 FT) and six rebounds across 20 minutes. Collins suffered the injury in the third quarter, when he was posterized by the Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards on a thundering dunk. Though he initially left the game to be evaluated for a concussion, Collins passed all diagnostic testing and appears to have escaped with a minor injury. Utah's training staff will likely re-evaluate Collins on Tuesday before a determination on his status is made for Wednesday's game in Oklahoma City.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Getting checked for concussion
Collins won't return to Monday's game against Minnesota after he exited the game in the third quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. He finished with 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 FT) and six rebounds over 20 minutes. Collins was visibly shaken up after attempting to contest a vicious Anthony Edwards dunk with 5:29 remaining in the period and taking a hit to the head in the process. He'll be subject to diagnostic testing in the Jazz locker room before an assessment is made as to whether he suffered a concussion. If Collins is diagnosed with a brain injury, he would likely face an uphill battle to gain clearance for Wednesday's game in Oklahoma City. Walker Kessler and Omer Yurtseven will likely serve as Utah's primary options at center for the remainder of Monday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Sent to locker room
Collins went to the locker room during the third quarter of Monday's game against the Timberwolves with an apparent face injury, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports. Collins took the brunt of a thunderous dunk by Anthony Edwards, who was also forced to temporarily visit the locker room before returning. Collins appeared to take a hand and knee to the face and is currently being evaluated by the training staff.... See More ... See Less -
Jazz's John Collins: Off injury report
Collins (rest) is not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday's matchup with the Timberwolves. Collins sat out of Saturday's game against the Timberwolves for rest purposes, but he will return to the lineup Monday. The 26-year-old pro is averaging 17.8 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 31.8 minutes per game over his last five appearances.... See More ... See Less
