  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Horrible outing in return to action

Lowry closed Monday's 108-96 loss to the Kings with three points (1-4 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 25 minutes. Lowry sat out the front end of the back-to-back for rest purposes and returned to the starting lineup against the Kings. The veteran has had some productive evenings with his new team, but his age is obviously showing. He isn't able to sustain consistent shot volume and leaves most of the ball-handling to Tyrese Maxey. De'Anthony Melton's (back) return will almost certainly end Lowry's tenure with the first unit.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Absent from injury report

Lowry (rest) isn't on the injury report for Monday's game against the Kings. Lowry sat out Sunday against the Clippers due to rest purposes, but he'll return to action for the second half of the back-to-back set. Over his last eight appearances, he's averaged 7.4 points, 4.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 28.9 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Out for rest Sunday

Lowry will not play in Sunday's game against the Clippers for rest purposes, Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com reports. Lowry's absence should open up extra playing time for the likes of Kelly Oubre, Buddy Hield and Cameron Payne. The veteran guard's next opportunity to suit up will come Monday against the Kings.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Good to go against New Orleans

Lowry (rest) isn't on the injury report for Friday's game versus the Pelicans. Lowry is good to go Friday after sitting out Philadelphia's previous contest for rest purposes. With Tyrese Maxey (concussion) out, Lowry will likely replace Cameron Payne as the team's starting point guard against the Pelicans.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Getting rest Wednesday

Lowry has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies for rest purposes. Lowry will get a breather for the second leg of the back-to-back set after he logged 14 points, five assists, two rebounds and one steal in 36 minutes in Tuesday's 112-107 loss to the Nets. With Lowry, Tyrese Maxey (concussion) and De'Anthony Melton (back) all sitting out Wednesday, Cameron Payne, Jeff Dowtin and Ricky Council could all be in store for major upticks in playing time.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Efficient in spot start

Lowry contributed 15 points (5-9 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and 10 assists over 36 minutes during Friday's 121-114 victory over the Hornets. Lowry made his first start since Jan. 17, and his first one since joining Philadelphia, and he looked absolutely impressive, posting a double-double and making a huge impact on both ends of the court. He's averaging 8.0 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game since joining the 76ers. It remains to be seen if he'll start against Dallas on Sunday considering how depleted the Sixers are in terms of depth.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Starting Friday

Lowry will start Friday's game against the Hornets, Austin Krell of USA Today reports. With Kelly Oubre (shoulder) and KJ Martin (ankle) joining De'Anthony Melton (back), Robert Covington (knee) and Joel Embiid (knee) on the sidelines, Lowry and Mo Bamba will enter the starting lineup. They'll be flanked by Tyrese Maxey, Tobias Harris and Buddy Hield, sending Paul Reed to a bench role. Over his last three appearances (all off bench), Lowry has averaged 5.7 points, 4.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 23.0 minutes per game.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Good to go Sunday

Lowry (conditioning) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game versus the Bucks. Lowry will return to action Sunday after sitting out Philadelphia's previous contest due to returning to competitive conditioning. The veteran guard should compete with Cameron Payne for minutes in the 76ers' backcourt rotation off the bench.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Sitting out Friday

Lowry won't play in Friday's game versus the Cavaliers due to returning to competition condition. Lowry recorded 11 points (5-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), five assists and four rebounds in 25 minutes during his Philadelphia debut Thursday. Despite not suffering an injury, the veteran guard will be held out of the second leg of the team's back-to-back Friday. Lowry should be available for Sunday's matchup with Milwaukee.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Good to go for Thursday

Lowry is off the injury report for Thursday's game against the Knicks. Lowry is slated to make his Philadelphia debut Thursday, after he had a chance to get acclimated with his new team coming out of the All-Star break. He'll likely challenge Cameron Payne for the top backup role behind Tyrese Maxey, though Maxey's prior experience playing off the ball should open up plenty of scenarios in which Lowry and Maxey share the floor together.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: On track to play Thursday

Lowry (not injury related) went through a full practice Wednesday, Lauren Rosen of the 76ers' official site reports. Lowry was held out of last Wednesday's game versus the Heat before the All-Star break as he ramped up his conditioning, but all signs point to him making his 76ers debut Thursday against the Knicks. The veteran will likely take over the backup point guard duties from Cameron Payne.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Won't play against Miami

Lowry is continuing his return-to-play ramp-up and will not play in Wednesday's game versus the Heat, Kyle Neubeck of AllPHLY.com reports. Lowry will be available to make his 76ers debut after the All-Star Break. The veteran point guard made 37 appearances, including 35 starts, for the Heat before being traded to the Hornets for Terry Rozier. Lowry was then bought out by Charlotte and joined Philadelphia, where he is expected to compete for backup point guard minutes with Cameron Payne behind Tyrese Maxey.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Cleared for Wednesday

Lowry doesn't appear on the 76ers' injury report for Wednesday's game against the Heat. Lowry reached a verbal agreement to join the 76ers over the weekend after he secured a buyout from the Hornets, but he had to wait until he formally cleared waivers Tuesday to finalize his one-year deal with Philadelphia. Given he hasn't played since Jan. 21 -- when he was still a member of the Heat team that the 76ers will face Wednesday -- Lowry could require some more practice time with Philadelphia before head coach Nick Nurse incorporates him into the rotation. Lowry at least looks poised to dress for Wednesday's contest, but it's unclear whether he'll immediately supplant Cameron Payne as starting point guard Tyrese Maxey's top backup, or if Lowry will be available merely in an emergency.

  • 76ers' Kyle Lowry: Gets buyout, joining Philadelphia

Lowry reached a buyout agreement with the Hornets on Saturday and will sign with the 76ers once he clears waivers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. A native Philadelphian, Lowry's name has been attached to the 76ers in trade rumors many times during his career, but now he'll finally get the chance to play for his hometown team in his age-37 season. His one-year deal is expected to be worth $2.8 million for the remainder of the campaign. With the 76ers, Lowry is likely to supplant the newly acquired Cameron Payne as the primary backup at point guard to Tyrese Maxey, and he could also play alongside Maxey at stretches. Even so, Lowry doesn't look as though he'll be in store for anything more than a 15-to-25-minute role, likely taking him off the radar as a pickup in most 12-team fantasy leagues.

  • Hornets' Kyle Lowry: Still out

Lowry (not with team) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Grizzlies. Lowry has yet to play for the Hornets since being traded from Miami. However, with the trade deadline passed, it's unclear when or if Lowry will join the Hornets, or if the team will work toward a buyout with the veteran guard.

  • Hornets' Kyle Lowry: Remains away from team

Lowry (not injury related) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Bucks. Lowry was traded from Miami to Charlotte in late January, and Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak said shortly after the deal that Lowry was unlikely to play for the team before the trade deadline. Lowry wasn't traded ahead of Thursday's deadline, but he remains away from the team ahead of Friday's game against the Bucks. It's not yet clear when he could take the court for the Hornets.

  • Hornets' Kyle Lowry: Unlikely to play pre-trade deadline

Hornets general manager Mitch Kupchak said Lowry (recently traded) is unlikely to play for the team prior to the league's Feb. 8 trade deadline, Schuyler Callihan of SI.com reports. The Hornets dealt away Terry Rozier and acquired Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick earlier Tuesday, but the draft pick was the main asset in the deal for Charlotte. The 37-year-old is on an expiring deal and doesn't hold much appeal for a non-contending Hornets club, so Charlotte will look to flip him before the deadline in a separate transaction. Lowry could eventually suit up for the Hornets if a trade partner can't be found, though a buyout after the Feb. 8 deadline looks to be a more likely outcome to afford the veteran point guard a chance to join a playoff contender. Kupchak noted that the franchise plans to see what options exist via trade, and that the decision not to have Lowry play for the team at this time is something the Hornets are doing "out of respect for him."

  • Hornets' Kyle Lowry: Won't play Wednesday

Lowry (trade pending) is listed as out for Wednesday's game versus the Pistons. Lowry was traded from Miami to Charlotte along with a first-round pick in exchange for Terry Rozier on Tuesday. However, the veteran point guard won't be available to make his Hornets' debut against Detroit. Lowry's next chance to suit up is Friday's matchup with Houston.

  • Hornets' Kyle Lowry: Dealt to Charlotte

The Hornets acquired Lowry and a 2027 first-round draft pick from the Heat on Tuesday in exchange for Terry Rozier, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Lowry had recently moved to a bench role in Miami, and his outlook isn't likely to improve in Charlotte, where he'll presumably slot in as a low-minute backup to starting point guard LaMelo Ball. Acquiring the future first-round draft pick -- which includes protections, according to Wojnarowski -- was likely the greater priority in the deal for Charlotte than Lowry, a 37-year-old on an expiring deal who was presumably included in the trade for salary-matching purposes. Lowry is in the midst of his worst season in more than a decade, having averaged 8.2 points -- his fewest since 2008-09 -- on 42.6 percent shooting from the field to go with 4.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers and 1.1 steals in 28.0 minutes per contest over 37 appearances for Miami. Given that the 10-31 Hornets aren't playoff contenders and wouldn't seem to have much use for a veteran on an expiring contract like Lowry, Wojnarowski relays that Charlotte has no immediate plans to waive him but will work towards moving him in another deal ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

  • Heat's Kyle Lowry: Coming off bench

Lowry will play a reserve role in Friday's matchup with the Hawks. Lowry will come off the bench in favor of Caleb Martin. The veteran Lowry has been struggling as of late, averaging 3.6 points on 25.9 percent shooting to go along with 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.6 triples across 23.6 minutes per game. It will be his first game as a reserve this season.
