Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homers twice in win
Estrada went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a walk, three RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's win over the Rays. Estrada had himself a day on Saturday, taking Ryan Pepiot deep for a solo shot in the top of the fourth and later adding a second long ball in the seventh as the Giants dominated the Rays. The shortstop got off to a slow start to begin this month but has now registered multiple hits in back-to-back contests and has hit safely in six of his last eight. Estrada has three home runs on the campaign already, putting him well on pace to surpass the 14 he hit in each of the last two seasons.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Launches home run against Padres
Estrada went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against San Diego. Estrada slugged his first homer of the 2024 campaign, tagging Michael King in the fourth inning to plate Michael Conforto. The second baseman has tallied an RBI in three straight games and has hit safely in each of his four appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Doing fine in spring
Estrada has gone 3-for-12 over four Cactus League games. While the Giants' infield is getting crowded after Friday's signing of Matt Chapman, there's little reason to think Estrada is in danger of losing his starting job at the keystone. Estrada hit .271 with a .731 OPS, 14 home runs, 23 stolen bases, 49 RBI and 63 runs scored over 120 contests last year. With a little more pop in the Giants' lineup, his counting stats could rise if he stays in the top half of the order.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Settles with Giants at $4.7 million
The Giants and Estrada avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.7 million contract Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports. Estrada was eligible for salary arbitration for the second time. The 27-year-old infielder has emerged as a quality regular in San Francisco, posting a .727 OPS with 28 homers and 44 steals over the last two seasons. Estrada currently looks pegged to be the team's everyday second baseman, but he offers the versatility to bounce around, if needed.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homer, steal in loss
Estrada went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 extra-inning loss to the Padres. Giants' Thairo Estrada: Racks up five hits in doubleheader
Estrada went 5-for-9 with two runs and an RBI across both games of a doubleheader versus the Rockies on Saturday. Most of Estrada's production came in Game 1, when he collected four of San Francisco's seven base knocks. The infielder added another single in the nightcap to finish his nice day at the plate. Estrada increased his batting average in September from .231 to .279 with the productive performance.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Homers in Sunday's win
Estrada went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a triple in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Rockies. Estrada missed Friday's game with conjunctivitis, but he's been seeing the ball fine since he returned with two homers across his last two games. Prior to Saturday, he'd gone 20 games without a long ball. The second baseman is up to 12 homers, 20 stolen bases, 45 RBI, 56 runs scored and a .274/.319/.429 slash line over 101 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -

Estrada (illness) is starting at second base and batting second Saturday against Colorado, sSusan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Estrada was a late scratch from Friday's lineup after suffering from a case of pink eye, but it no longer seems to be a problem heading into Saturday's game. The 27-year-old is slashing just .250/.280/.292 across 25 plate appearances since Sept. 1.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Scratched with conjunctivitis
Estrada was scratched from the lineup Friday against the Rockies with conjunctivitis, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports. Casey Schmitt will cover second base with Wilmer Flores moving up to the second spot in the Giants' batting order. Estrada might also be in danger of missing the rest of the weekend as he recovers from pink eye.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Picks up 19th steal
Estrada went 2-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 8-6 extra-inning win over the Phillies. The steal was Estrada's 19th of the season, and it was his first attempt to swipe a bag since returning from a hand injury earlier in the month. The second baseman has gone 21-for-67 (.313) over his last 16 games. He's up to a .280/.329/.434 slash line with 10 home runs, 39 RBI, 51 runs scored, 23 doubles and a triple over 86 games this season.... See More ... See Less -

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Returns to lineup Tuesday

X-rays turned up negative for any structural damage.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Scans clean, but out of lineup
Estrada is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Philadelphia but expects to be available off the bench after scans on his injured right hand came back clean, Evan Webeck of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Estrada played all nine innings and reached base three times in the Giants' 4-3 triumph over Atlanta on Sunday, but he came away from the contest hurting after being hit in the hand by a pitch in the top of the ninth. Fortunately for Estrada and the Giants, the pitch hit him on the forearm rather than on the hamate bone of his wrist, so he's likely just dealing with bruising or soreness rather than a serious injury. He'll take a seat for Monday's series opener, but Estrada should have a good chance at stepping back into the starting nine Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Thairo Estrada: Dealing with hand issue
Manager Gabe Kapler said after Sunday's win over Atlanta that Estrada will likely undergo an X-ray after being hit in the hand by a pitch, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Estrada was hit by a pitch on his right hand in the top of the ninth inning Sunday and was able to remain in the game afterward, but he'll likely undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury. He was productive during Sunday's matchup, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Whether he'll be available for Monday's series opener in Philadelphia remains to be seen.... See More ... See Less -

He's reclaimed a starting role at second base, though he hit ninth Tuesday, just the second time he's been at the bottom of the order.
