Altuve went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning loss to Atlanta. The veteran second baseman racked up his fifth multi-hit performance over the last seven games, a stretch in which Altuve is batting a blistering .467 (14-for-30). He was hardly cold before that though, and he's failed to collect a hit in only one of his first 20 games. Altuve went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs during Sunday's win over the Rangers. Altuve touched up Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi for both of his blasts, leading off the bottom of the first with a shot to left, then adding a second blast in the third. Altuve's extension ensures he will remain as Houston's second baseman through the 2029 season. Altuve hit for the cycle Monday, finishing 4-for-6 with a home run, a triple, a double, four RBI and four runs scored in a 13-5 win over Boston. After recording the 2,000th hit of his career earlier this month, Altuve accomplished another milestone by becoming the first Astros player in 10 years to hit for the cycle.
