Utah vs. USC Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Saturday's NCAAF game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Utah vs. USC football game
Game Recap
On Saturday, the Utah Utes couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 33-17 fall against the USC Trojans. The result was an unfortunate reminder to Utah of the 30-23 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head last September.
No one had a standout game offensively for the Trojans, but they got scores from RB Vavae Malepeai, WR Tyler Vaughns, and TE Erik Krommenhoek. The team can also thank their defense for forcing the opposing offense to cough up 5 turnovers.
Special teams collected 15 points for USC. K Parker Lewis delivered a perfect 4-for-4 game.
Nobody on Utah really separated themselves from the pack offensively, but they got scores from WR Samson Nacua, DB Nephi Sewell, and QB Jake Bentley.
The defeat dropped Utah's record to 0-1. The win for USC kept them a perfect 3-0.
The Utes will square off against the Arizona State Sun Devils at 2 p.m. ET next Saturday at Sun Devil Stadium, Frank Kush Field. ASU also suffered a recent defeat, falling 28-27 to the Trojans two weeks ago. USC will take on the Colorado Buffaloes at 3 p.m. ET next Saturday at home. Colorado is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 35-32 victory over the Stanford Cardinal last week.
