The big games

No. 6 Oklahoma vs. No. 21 Texas -- noon on ABC: Both teams will enter the Cotton Bowl undefeated in conference play, and there's no doubt that the winner will have an inside track for the Big 12 Championship Game. Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler seemed to get right last weekend, while the Longhorns have been a much more consistent team since Casey Thompson took over under center.

No. 2 Georgia at No. 18 Auburn -- 3:30 p.m. on CBS: The first leg of the SEC on CBS doubleheader will come from the Plains, where a piping hot Georgia team will try to shut down the Bo Nix experience. The junior quarterback for the Tigers was a wizard last week vs. LSU, but he will have a much more difficult challenge against the best defense in the nation.

No. 4 Penn State at No. 3 Iowa -- 4 p.m. on Fox: Penn State has quietly become one of the more complete teams in the country. Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes defense forced seven turnovers last Friday in a big win at Maryland. The Big Ten has the look of a conference that is about to beat up on itself, so the winner here will maintain hopes of making the playoff.

No. 1 Alabama at Texas A&M -- 8 p.m. on CBS: This looked like it was going to be the game of the year in the SEC, but losses to Arkansas and Mississippi State have tarnished Texas A&M's chances at the title. Alabama is a machine and should force the Aggies into a shootout. Can Zach Calzada and Co. keep up?

Other big games

No. 13 Arkansas at No. 17 Ole Miss -- noon on ESPN: The redemption bowl will take place on Saturday in Oxford when the Razorbacks -- fresh off being shut out by Georgia -- will square off against an Ole Miss team that got run out of the building by Alabama. The loser of this game will kiss its hopes at an SEC West title goodbye.

Boise State at No. 10 BYU -- 3:30 p.m. on ABC: The Cougars have climbed up rankings after three wins over Pac-12 South teams and rival Utah State. They can make another statement on Saturday against a Broncos team that used to be the darlings of the Group of Five.

No. 9 Michigan at Nebraska -- 7:30 p.m. on ABC: The Wolverines snuck into the top 10 thanks to an efficient offense and one of the best defenses in the Big Ten. The Cornhuskers throttled Northwestern last week and have become an explosive passing offense.
