SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) Brandin Podziemski's 23 points helped Santa Clara defeat Pepperdine 91-82 on Thursday.

Podziemski also contributed 18 rebounds for the Broncos (22-8, 10-5 West Coast Conference). Carlos Stewart scored 20 points while going 6 of 14 from the floor, including 3 for 7 from distance, and 5 for 5 from the line, and added three steals. Camaron Tongue recorded 12 points and shot 5 of 9 from the field and 1 for 3 from the line. The Broncos prolonged their winning streak to six games.

The Waves (9-20, 2-13) were led in scoring by Jan Zidek, who finished with 15 points. Mike Mitchell Jr. added 14 points and five assists for Pepperdine. Maxwell Lewis also recorded 14 points.

Santa Clara took the lead with 3:38 to go in the first half and did not relinquish it. The score was 40-36 at halftime, with Stewart racking up 12 points. Podziemski scored 19 points in the second half to help lead Santa Clara to a nine-point victory.
